London, England, United Kingdom · Engineering & Technology · 07111

This is a position within one of our product development teams, which will be assisting in the delivery of a diverse number of e-commerce projects. It would be a technical and hands-on role that would suit a developer looking to use their experience in various web technologies, as you will be working on products built on predominantly but not limited to PHP based technologies.

All our teams are multi-discipline, so a candidate would have a mix of some (or ideally a good percentage of) the following skills:

Backend development (PHP or node.js or python)

JavaScript Development (React, or Angular 2 or Backbone.js or Vue.js)

PHP > 5.3 (Magento (1 or 2), Symfony (2 or 3))

Continuous Integration, Deployment and Delivery

Source control (git)

Database Systems and Design (MySQL, MS-SQL)

Amazon Web Services (or any other experience of building large scale, distributed web applications)

Behaviour and Test driven development practices

Agile Project Management (Scrum or Kanban)

Web design (HTML, CSS, JS)

This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the product your team is responsible for, and possibly even the rest of the e-commerce department as a whole.

The successful candidate will help to deliver digital services to our customers, our partners or other departments within the business.

Within the teams you'll be working with other developers, UX designers, systems administrators and a team lead to ensure the delivery of e-commerce development projects.

The tasks would be focussed around designing, developing, testing and maintaining new and existing features for the products your team is responsible as well as helping maintain operation of web services in production at times.

The candidate needs to be hard-working, self-motivated, care about doing things the 'right way' and be passionate about continuously learning.

There are significant opportunities to grow the role over time, through management and technical specialist paths. The candidate would also be encouraged to engage in training, conferences and other exercises to continuously broaden their skills. This is intended to develop both their career and their contribution to the team.
